Mt. Waternomee B18 Bomber Crash Site

Mt Waternomee 2535 ft. This hike was not to the summit of Mt Waternomee but to the crash site of a B18-A Bomber that crashed in 1942 on the side of the mountain. Please note that if you visit this site that it is treated as a memorial with respect to those brave individuals that lost their lives here. The trail is not initially well-marked and when you get close enough you can see the American Flag marking the location through the trees. This wreck is scattered up the side of the mountain, so keep going if you wish to view all of the debris.

The track & stats shown below is “out” only due to equipment failure at crash site.
